Warranty Program and Service Guide
Citizen’s warranty program is designed to provide real value to
the customer and a strong competitive edge to you, the retailer.
Our unparalleled warranty program gives you a vehicle to build
and strengthen a relationship with the consumer which may
continue long after the initial sale.
Three Year Limited Warranty – Citizen Quartz
Every Citizen Quartz watch purchased in Australia, New
Zealand, The Republic of South Africa and the South Pacific
Islands from a Citizen Authorised Dealer, is accompanied by a
Three Year Limited Warranty valid from the date of purchase.
This Warranty applies to all quartz watches giving superior
protection and peace of mind to the consumer.
Included in the first year of this Warranty is a one year
International Guarantee.
Five Year Limited Warranty – Citizen Eco-Drive &
Promaster
Every Citizen Eco-Drive and Promaster timepiece purchased in
Australia, New Zealand, Republic of South Africa and the South
Pacific Islands from a Citizen Authorised Dealer, is accompanied
by a Five Year Limited Warranty valid from the date of purchase.
This Warranty applies to all Citizen Eco-Drive and Promaster
timepieces giving superior protection and peace of mind to the
consumer. Included in the first year of this Warranty is a one
year International Guarantee.
What Does Your Warranty Include
The Warranty includes watch movements. It does not include
accidental damage to the finish of the case, crystal, bracelet,
strap, stem and crown or other appearance parts caused by
wear. The original Power Cell in the watch is a test/service
Power Cell and is therefore not covered by the warranty.
We recommend a Citizen timepiece in need of service be taken
to a CITIZEN Authorised Service Centre. Any damage caused
by repairs or alterations by unauthorised technicians may void
your warranty.
When Completing Your Warranty Coupon
Your Warranty Coupon must be filled out completely. To do
this you will need the Calibre/Case Number, the Manufacturer’s
Serial Number and the Model Number.
You, the retailer, should assist the consumer in filling out the
information on the warranty card form in the three year limited
warranty booklet or five year limited warranty booklet at the time
of sale.
Citizen’s unparalleled warranty program and excellent after-sales
service is designed to support our retailers in providing superior
quality and lasting value to the consumer.
Warranty Repairs
For watches sent in under warranty*, Citizen commits to repair
within 45 days of receipting. If this is not possible, we will
replace the watch or provide a substitute to the same value.
Non-Warranty Repairs
For watches sent in outside of the warranty period*, Citizen will
provide a written quotation for the repair job. Upon acceptance
of the quotation, if the watch cannot be repaired within 45 days,
Citizen will replace the watch or provide a substitute to the same
value.
In the unlikely event that the watch is unrepairable, Citizen will
authorise the retailer to negotiate with the customer in order to
retain the loyalty of Citizen Consumers.
*Applies to watches sent to Sydney office for Australian retailers, and Auckland
office for New Zealand retailers.

The casebacks on our timepieces offer a variety of information
you may need when requesting parts, service, setting
instructions or other information.
When Requesting Replacement Parts
You will be asked for the calibre and case number. To order
parts you may contact your nearest Citizen Service Centre, or
you may order parts directly from Citizen Watches Australia
Pty Ltd. For New Zealand retailers, you may order directly from
Citizen Watches New Zealand.
When Requesting Setting/Operating Instructions
You will be asked for the calibre number which is the first
4 characters of the calibre/case number.
When Determining if Your Watch is Water Resistant
Water resistance is offered in varying degrees based on the
design and application of your timepiece. The caseback will
indicate the degree of water resistance for your timepiece.
If there is no indication of water resistance, you should be
careful not to expose your timepiece to moisture as it is not
water resistant.
When Trying to Locate the Caseback
Opening Location
The last digit following the Country of Origin will indicate the
location of the slot. In this case, the caseback removal slot
would be located at the 6:00 position.*
We recommend only qualified technicians remove the caseback
of your timepiece.
